A Bag of Goodies for Mommy by MamaEarth
I have been hearing good things about MamaEarth for quite a while now and I recently received a bunch of goodies from them… Well, not so recently actually. I got them over 2 weeks ago but was too busy with work to write about it. However, the good news is, I have been using them religiously for that long and therefore, am gonna give you a full lowdown on my experience.
- Nourishing Body Lotion: Contains Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Wheatgerm Oil and Aloe Vera.
- Calming Body Wash: Contains Allantoin, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera.
- Argan Hair Mask: Contains Argan Oil, Avocado Oil, Milk Protein, Curd Extract, Tea Tree Oil and Rosemary Oil.
And they came in this adorable blue and pink toiletries bag which is perfect for traveling. Karma snatched it from me the second she saw it since her favourite colour is blue and has claimed it as hers. But that’s when I realised, it’s a perfect size to carry Karma’s creams, lotions, washes and medicines when we’re on vacation.
I am sure you guys have already read many reviews on MamaEarth and know some basics facts about their products. So I will just highlight some of that information and go straight into how they worked me.

MamaEarth Argan Hair Mask
Now if you are one of those unlucky people like me who have a weird combo of dry hair and oily scalp, then this hair mask is for you! I did face a lot of hair fall post pregnancy but it got better in the second year. Plus, if you have been following me on Instagram lately, you know I recently got my lovely locks chopped off. So one might wonder why would I need a hair mask when I sport a pixie cut? Good question. I have junglee dry hair. I imagined managing hair this short would be easy but they never fall into place. Ideally, I would apply oil but my scalp is already so oily that the hair at the top just bundles up. It’s quite a fix to be in. When I got this mask, I figured there is no harm in trying it out.
So I did what the directions said. I applied it for 15 mins on washed and towel dried hair. The good part is it can be used as a leave-in conditioner too which I did the second time. Washed it off, combed my hair and forgot about it. When my hair started to dry, it didn’t run in all directions as much as it does usually. I usually have to brush it a lot to set. But just after the first use of the hair mask, my hair was smoother and fell into place quite nicely. Especially my fringe. My bangs, as funky as they are, take a lot of time to fall in place. I didn’t need to apply additional product to set them after the hair mask. Full points!
That’s what gave me the idea to use it as a hair setting product too. Since it’s a leave in conditioner, I applied it, set my hair and went out for lunch. And it worked! No more using gels to get my fringe into place. This won’t give me grey hair but instead nourish it further while its on. Total win-win situation!
MamaEarth Body Wash
I’m a total sucker for body washes. I love taking baths and Karma is SO my daughter on this front. It’s world war 3 every time we end her baths. So I knew I’ll like this. But it lives up to its name… It is a calming body wash! The scent is very natural and it has a very clean lather. I know you’re wondering what does that mean but I don’t know how to explain it better. The lather itself looks very smooth and clean and not artificial. The body wash does its job well and is very gentle. Now the reason I say it’s calming is because I did feel very relaxed after my bath. It kind of reminded me of a luxury spa! All I needed was a massage and sleep.
I also liked the leak-proof double cap. The push-pump dispenser pumps out small sufficient quantities so you don’t waste the wash and bottle lasts a long time.
MamaEarth Body Lotion
Body lotions are something I’m very lazy about applying. I know I need to but the whole process is too long. But then I opened the bottle of Mamaearth Body Lotion and the fragrance of rose water hit me. I’m a big fan of rose water. When I wasn’t such a lazy bum, I would clean my face with it a couple of times a week and I love the scent. So I tried it out.
Now anyone who knows my child knows that Karma is the epitome of hyperactivity. So even when she wants to show love, she attacks you with all her love and might. On days that I forget to cut her nails, this display of love doesn’t end well for me. So I’m perpetually covered in scratches. And those scratches burn when I apply creams. That did not happen with this lotion. In fact, it was soothing. And it didn’t take too long to apply because it absorbs rather quickly. I think it helped with the healing process for the scratches too.
Overall, I was quite impressed with the products. The hair mask was my favourite hands down. I have been hearing great things about their face mask too and given my skin issues with freckles and acne, it’s next on my list. But now that I have seen first hand how gentle and effective their products are, I’m convinced their baby range will suit Karma. So I’m surely gonna give that a shot too soon enough.
The products were sent to me by the brand and I didn’t pay for them. However, the views and comments shared are my own. I will never recommend anything to my readers that I won’t use for myself or my family.
